The Achievements of Surgery: Burns, Malformation and Reconstructive Surgery

On the 28th of February 2014, the Bulgarian Cultural Institute will be holding a presentation and discussion which aims at displaying the achievements of Bulgarian surgery in the areas of burns, malformations and reconstructive surgery.
Special guest will be the renowned surgeon, Dr Lyudmil Peev, chief of the department of general plastic and aesthetic surgery at the clinic “Skin Systems” in Sofia. He is one of the country’s most respected and skilful professionals and also one of the main surgeons participating in the Bulgarian version of the hit reality show, “Extreme Makeover”.

In addition to an interactive presentation, there will be a discussion with the participation of medical professionals from London clinics and medical universities.

Among the special guests are some of the most prestigious surgeons in burns and reconstructive surgery, with clinics in Central London, as well as members of the faculties of elite British universities such as UCL and Queen Mary.

The presentation will aim to highlight Bulgarian expertise and achievements in these areas and will stimulate a discussion that will set the basis for future academic and medical cooperation between the UK and Bulgaria, in these areas.

The presentation will be followed by a wine reception with organic Bulgarian wine and a possibility for the audience to extend their questions towards Dr Peev and his medical practice.
