Presentation of the book EnoughMona Choban photo by Mona Choban
Special Guest: Mona Choban

About the book:

The characters in Mona Choban’s latest novel, Enough, make the journey from Paris to a small village in the Bulgarian Rhodope Mountains in search of solitude and peace. But instead of realising their dream of seclusion, they find themselves drawn into strange and mystical adventures. The past and the present, the aroma of freshly baked bread and blood, unfamiliar worlds and emotions intertwine. Where everyone has to face up to his own journey to arrive at the point of healing and liberating forgiveness – for others and for themselves.

This book should be read by everyone who drinks their coffee with cinnamon or caramel, who loves the smell of logs burning in the fireplace, leaves rotting in the autumn and burnt grass in the summer. For those who want to learn all their lives and who want to believe in the impossible and fall asleep with a smile on their faces.

About the author:

Mona Choban graduated from the ‘M. Gorky’ Literary Institute in Moscow. In 1999, together with a group of Bulgarian authors and poets, she co-founded the ‘Order of the Mediterranean Troubadours’, which organised the first gathering of Mediterranean authors from 12 different countries.

Between 2003 and 2004, Mona was the co-ordinator in the Russian film productions of The Turkish Gambit and The Master and Margaret.

She was also the first author of Bulgarian ‘chick lit’, with titles such as Sex is not an occasion for acquaintance (2005), No more men…until the next one (2006), One, two three (2007) and Paris 18 (2010). Enough is her fifth book. Currently, Mona lives and works in Paris. The author has once again experimented and presented us with a romantic and mystic adventure.
