Synopsis:
Modus Vivendi, (‘way of living’ in Latin), is a documentary film about 7 Bulgarians who look ordinary, but pursue their dreams with relentlessly dedication, no matter how crazy, difficult or impossible they may seem to others, and eventually succeed in being happy now, in Bulgaria.

The usual suspects of most Bulgarian documentaries are old people, abandoned villages, minorities and poverty – this is ‘advertised’ as the portrait of our nation. Our characters however show another aspect of the nation. We present to you:

– Peter – a social science student, who takes care of horses in a isolated border
village
– Elena – a director in a theatre and a ‘summer mother’ of some 200 orphans
– Miro – an interior designer, and Kalin – a musician and radio DJ, co-founders of a
medieval society
– Verginia – a poet, journalist and water-psychotherapist
– Koko – a windsurf and snowboard instructor and opera singer, and
– The Lizard – an anti-terrorist squad member, pilot and extraordinary friend

“Modus Vivendi is a mosaic of stories of different people with extravagant interests who might be the real heroes of our time.” (Vesti.bg)
