Michail Lalov – The Mythology of Love:

How many people can honestly say, hand on heart, that they always do what they want, what they believe in, steadfastly following their heart’s creative life and creed? How many are “Princes of the spirit”, able to even for a moment discard their comfortable “position in life”, rushing head first in a whole new direction, experimenting, conquering new spaces with technique, form and thought?

One of the few chosen is definitely the artist Michail Lalov.

Brightly colourful, decorative and theatrical, eccentric and gentle, expressive and romantic, he modeled his unique fusion of suggestions under the sign of the encompassing message – Everything is Love! The genuine pearls of life covered by the patina of everyday life, buried in the mud of petty, transient, silted by malice and indifference, faded from concern about daily bread, trampled on by greed and reckless compromises…

This is so in need today, when strong feelings are replaced by calculative passion, when love is the subject of sale, when total consumerism swiftly removes the old human feeling! This is what the artist purifies in his paintings, this is what he comes to resurrect.

Michail Lalov attacks the spaces where the spirit soars free, where sad divine creatures rule, inhabiting an infinite mythology of love. They are wonderful – conquered only by another, having forgotten the cares of the day, immersed in the spell of a dream world where any gesture is a caress, and words are a sort of magic for love.
