The Faces of the Bulgarian Spirit

Commemorative evening for the much-respected Bulgarian intellectual Petar Ouvaliev aka Pierre Rouve (1915-1998)

Special Guest:
Sonia Rouve-Ouvalieva

Sonia Rouve-Ouvalieva, daughter Mila and publisher Nigel Foxell will present aspects of Pierre’s life and activities as:
diplomat, film and theatre director, art critic, lecturer and broadcaster

Sonia Rouve will place Petar in the historical context of Bulgarian diplomacy and speak of his posts in Rome and London.

Nigel Foxell will talk about Pierre as art critic and historian and will present Pierre’s book on JMW Turner.

Mila Rouve will present extracts and stills from her father’s work as a film producer, director and screenwriter of, among others, “Blow Up” and “The Millionairess”.

Throughout the evening there will be readings and film extracts, in English and Bulgarian.
