We would like to inform you that due to the new rules and restrictions introduced in the UK about the gathering of more people in one place indoors and the 14 days quarantine for arrivals from Bulgaria, the concert “Musical Messages” by Mariana Tsvetkova and Vladimir Marinov on October 15, 2020, from 19.00, in the “Sofia” Gallery, is cancelled.

The Bulgarian Cultural Institute London is happy to invite you to the concert “Musical Messages” by Mariana Tsvetkova and Vladimir Marinov on October 15, 2020, from 19.00, in the “Sofia” Gallery.

The program includes works by famous Bulgarian and foreign composers. (Richard Strauss, Edward Grieg, Francesco Chilea, Vincenzo Bellini, Piotr Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Modest Mussorgsky, Tikhon Khrennikov, Pancho Vladigerov, Dobri Hristov, Yovcho Krushev, Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Orlando Murden, Robert Wright, Victor Young, etc.)

 

Mariana Tsvetkova was born in the city of Rousse, where she graduated from the secondary music school “Prof. Veselin Stoyanov” in the class of Snezhina Yakimova (1980-1984). After graduating from the Theoretical-Composer and Vocal Faculties of the State Academy of Music (1985-90), the pursuit of professional development led her to the Bulgarian Academy of Arts and Culture “Boris Hristov” in Rome (1991-1992) and the University of Indiana (1994-97), where she studied with the famous American opera singer Martina Arroyo. After 1997, Mariana Tsvetkova developed an international career, which took her to the Scala di Milano, the opera houses and concert halls in Berlin, Munich, Dresden, Paris, Vienna, Rio de Janeiro, Brussels, New York, Detroit, Tokyo.

Among the awards and distinctions for her success are:

– Grand Prix of the International Singing Competition in Toulouse-France-1998
– Laureate of the Queen Elizabeth Singing Competition in Brussels – 1996
– Second prize at the Puccini Competition in New York -1998
– Awards from the Foundations: Olga Forrai – New York, Opera Index-NY, Gerda Lissner-NY, Singers Development Foundation-NY.

 

Vladimir Marinov graduated from the Music Academy with a degree in bassoon and classical singing. He specialized in New York. After his debut as Don Juan in his hometown of Varna, he toured in Germany, Russia, Italy, Turkey and others. He is a laureate of domestic and foreign competitions. He has sung in many cities in Bulgaria mostly Russian programs. Vladimir Marinov’s repertoire includes the roles of Don Juan, Colin, Dulcamara, Prince Gremin, as well as almost all songs from the War Years, songs from the repertoire of Joseph Kobzon, Lev Leshchenko, Alexandra Pakhmutova, Arno Babajanyan, Frank Sinatra…

Vladimir Marinov is a soloist at the Rousse State Opera. His opera and stage repertoire includes titles such as “Bohemia”, “La Traviata”, “Love Potion”, “Don Carlos”, “Queen of the Chardasha”, “Paris Life”, “Bulgarians of Old Times” and many others. He has recordings in the Bulgarian National Radio and Television, as well as guest appearances in a number of television show programs.
