Kapka Kassabova was born in Sofia, Bulgaria and now lives in the Scottish Highlands. She is the author of several poetry collections, numerous travel essays, the novel Villa Pacifica, and the acclaimed memoirs Street Without a Name: Childhood and Other Misadventures in Bulgaria, and Twelve Minutes of Love: A Tango Story. She has written for the Sunday Times, Guardian, Vogue and 1843 magazine.
Tim Marshall  is a leading journalist, author and broadcaster. He has reported from 40 countries, covering conflicts in Croatia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria and Israel. His books include the longstanding Sunday Times bestseller Prisoners of Geography and Worth Dying For: The Power and Politics of Flags. He is founder and editor of the current affairs site TheWhatandtheWhy.com.
Adam LeBor is the author of five novels, including the Yael Azoulay UN thriller series, and eight non-fiction books. Hitler’s Secret Bankers, his groundbreaking exposé of Swiss economic complicity with the Nazis, was shortlisted for the Orwell Prize, and City of Oranges, a history of Jaffa told through the lives of Arab and Jewish families, was shortlisted for the JQ Wingate Prize. District 8, the first volume of his new crime series featuring Gypsy detective Balthazar Kovacs, is now out in paperback. He divides his time between Budapest and London.
