The Bulgarian Cultural Institute London is pleased to present “Photon Teleportation”, a solo exhibition by Bulgarian visual artist Vel Mavrodieva.
Through this exhibition, the artist explores the movement of information, memory, and symbols through time, creating a visual dialogue between tradition and contemporary culture. Using an eclectic artistic language and a wide range of materials, she constructs a layered space where cultural memory encounters new forms of perception.
The exhibition features twelve paintings incorporating textile elements, two woodcarvings, and a light installation conceived around three fundamental manifestations of light: white, ultraviolet, and infrared. Together, these works form an immersive experience that invites visitors to reflect on the visible and the invisible, and on the traces that time leaves within culture and collective memory.
Vel Mavrodieva is a Bulgarian visual artist whose professional practice spans theatre, film, and contemporary visual arts. She graduated in Puppet Theatre Scenography from NATFA in 2022 and has worked as a scenographer, costume designer, and makeup and hair artist on theatre productions, music videos, short films, international film projects, and Bulgarian television series.
Join us for an evening dedicated to contemporary Bulgarian art, where traditional techniques and modern artistic approaches come together in a compelling visual experience.
