When literary fame overrides humanity, a journey becomes a road to Hell. The documentary is an exploration of the propaganda for Nazi cultural hegemony over Europe.

“5 years ago, while searching for information about Fani Popova-Mutafova in English on the Internet, I came across this book by the historian Benjamin Martin, The New Nazi-Fascist Order for European Culture, published by Harvard Press. I immediately ordered it. The book is an exceptional study of Nazi propaganda and its European ambitions. I found out about the existence of a lowly writer’s union, of which Fani Mutafova turned out to be a co-founder. That’s how my desire to “make movies” was born. Cinema in itself is not a goal for me. My goal with “Weimar Express” was to offer viewers access to some extremely important, yet unknown to many, historical facts and events in which Bulgaria has a serious role.” – Milena Fuchedjieva
