We are honoured to welcome the acclaimed Bulgarian writer Rene Karabash, who will discuss her debut novel She Who Remains, shortlisted for the 2026 International Booker Prize

Set high in the Accursed Mountains, the novel tells the powerful story of Bekija, who escapes an arranged marriage by becoming a sworn virgin and living as a man. Years later, as hidden truths resurface, the story unfolds with striking emotional depth and intensity.

Rene Karabash will be in conversation with her translator Izidora Angel, award-winning essayist and literary translator.
