The Bulgarian Cultural Institute London is delighted to announce the participation of acclaimed Bulgarian writer Zdravka Evtimova in the European Writers’ Festival 2026 at the British Library.

🎤 She will take part in the panel discussion:

🌿 Back to Nature

with

🇵🇱 Małgorzata Lebda (Poland)

🇪🇪 Carolina Pihelgas (Estonia)

🎙 Chair: Antonia Lloyd-Jones

🌍 Three award-winning, multi-talented female writers (including poets, translators, a marathon runner and a photographer) return to nature to tackle the pressing issues of climate change, violence, war, poverty and injustice. Yet these exceptional works are far from bleak, elevating the stories of girls, women and grandmothers through profound emotional truths, sharp satire, luminous prose and the solace of nature.

📖 This event is part of the programme “Month of Bulgarian Literature and Culture” – May 2026, organised by the Bulgarian Cultural Institute London.

🤝 Join us at the British Library for a special literary encounter with Zdravka Evtimova and other European writers, celebrating contemporary European literature, translation and cultural dialogue.
