Film Screening of the Bulgarian-Romanian Feature Film “Humble”

The Bulgarian Cultural Institute London invites you to a special screening of the Bulgarian-Romanian feature film “Humble” (Смирен) by acclaimed Bulgarian filmmaker Svetoslav Draganov. 

This tragicomic story follows Vassil, a struggling documentary filmmaker determined to capture the perfect ending for his film—by reuniting a monk and his estranged mother at a deeply emotional moment.

The film features performances by Hristo Petkov, Miroslava Gogovska, Atanas Bachorski, Sashka Bratanova, Detelin Benchev, Zdravko Dragnev, Maria Statulova, Boris Lukanov, Kalin Gardev, Yana Draganova and Sasho Roman.

“Humble” is a co-production between Cineaste Maudit Production (Bulgaria) and Parada Film (Romania), made with the support of the Bulgarian National Film Centre, the Romanian Centre of Cinematography and Romanian National Television.

The screenplay is written by Svetoslav Draganov, Nevena Borisova and Bogomil Dimitrov, with cinematography by Vesselin Hristov and music by Boris Changarov and Sebastian Zsemlye.

The film premiered at Sofia International Film Festival 2022, where it received the Special Jury Award in the International Competition.
