Literary afternoon with Alek Popov in Bristol

The Bulgarian Cultural Institute London and UBU Bulgarian Society is honoured to have renowned Bulgarian novelist and author of Mission London Alek Popov come to Bristol to talk about his new work and answer your questions!

The event is on Saturday 9th May, 2pm-4pm in the Stephenson Room, Students’ Union Building!

The Bulgarian Society is honoured to have Alek Popov come to Bristol to talk about his new books and specifically answer your questions about his famous work ‘Mission London’. The event is open to everyone, student or not! There is no entry fee.

Alek has won several literary awards including the National Radio’s Pavel Veshinov Award for the best criminal short story; the Graviton Award for best science fiction; the Raško Sugarev Award for best short story; the prize Helicon for best prose book of the year, 2002; the annual prize of Clouds magazine for the English translation of Mission London, 2004; and most recently the National Prize for Drama Ivan Radoev.

Alek’s short stories have been have been translated into German, Hungarian, Polish, Serbian, Chez, French, Danish, English and Turkish.
