The Bulgarian Cultural Institute London attends “La Traviata” with Bulgarian soprano Sonia Yoncheva, at the Royal Opera House

Special guest for the performance on the 30th of June was Mrs Svetla Dionisieva, the director of the BCI London. Mrs Dionisieva gave Sonia Yoncheva a wonderful bouquet of flowers from on behalf of the institute. The gift expresses the extreme pride we all felt the moment that a Bulgarian singer absolutely enchanted the international audience with her incredible voice and stage presence.
The awe of the audience can be proved through the comments of viewers, according to which “Mrs Yoncheva is one of the most exciting singers of our time”, her performance was “spell-binding” and this is “the best Violetta the stage of the ROH has ever seen”.
The reactions of the spectators speak even stronger than words, as after each one of Yoncheva’s performances, the audience cried, clapped and were even stamping in excitement.
From the 17th until the 4th of July, the world famous Bulgarian opera singer will be performing the role of Violetta Valery in “La Traviata” by Verdi. Ticket sales began more than 2 months before the performances and were sold out in a number of days. This is Yoncheva’s debut as Verdi’s tragic heroine and she managed to provoke a real storm of applause in the Main hall of the London opera.
